It’s bring and brag time because my beautiful shawl is finally off my blocking mat; that means I now have three me-made shawls, and my usual one can now have a breather.
This was an interesting and straightforward knit. To recap, pattern is On the Spice Market by Melanie Berg, and yarn is Cascade 220 fingering in Avocado, Jet, Buff (main colour), Olive Oil, Charcoal and Plum (clockwise from 12 o’clock position), with a bit of over-dyed Drops Flora (Natural) because I ran out of the main colour.
The pattern is easy and very forgiving because it was easy to adjust stitches without having to rip back. After a while, I didn’t even bother checking to see that I have the prescribed number of stitches, and I suspect I added a bit to the overall stitches.
I knitted on 3.25mm needles, but I think it’s a pattern that can be knitted with a weightier yarn to make a bigger shawl. I could have done more repeats of the blocks of colours since I have a lot of yarn remaining, but I just restrained myself especially because I don’t really like huge shawls.
Till next time, thanks for stopping by.
