Happy Boxing Day, lovely people. I hope you had a lovely day yesterday.
We had a lovely Christmas Day at home, with my husband taking charge of our kitchen (I think he’d love to be a chef in his spare time 😊) after we came home from mass. I on the other hand took things easy and gave him moral support while he carried on.
Anyway, I cast on a hat for my husband WIP on Christmas Eve. The pattern is called Lina, a free pattern on Ravelry by jokoknits. He’s quite particular about what he wants, and tends to stick to things that have been tested and trusted, and so is biased towards a Merino/Silk/Cashmere blend ever since I gave him a hat I made for myself, but was mistakenly felted. He’s also one of those who once they like something, wear it until it falls apart. So, this particular hat is currently looking the worse for wear even though he has other hats.
At first, he wanted me to remake his beloved hat, but after much negotiation, he eventually gave in to me making him a different one, and we finally settled for Lina, a free pattern on Ravelry by jokoknits.
Since he wanted a rolled brim to keep his ears warm, I decided to trial a double-thick band instead, and followed this tutorial by Verypink on YouTube.
After removing the provisional cast on, I moved the stitches to another pair of needles (doesn’t have to be the same size as the working needles).
Lest I forget, I’m using Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk DK.
And that’s it folks; enjoy the rest of your week.
